Do you hate your skin? Do you wish that it looked more beautiful and radiant? 

Have you paid attention to the way you treat your skin? I’m not only talking about skincare, but have you ever paid attention to what you eat? Do you live a healthy lifestyle, excercise and drink enough water? Or are you stressed all the time and don’t sleep enough? Do you tell yourself that you don’t have time to look after yourself? Are you TOO busy?

I had a number of clients in the past few weeks who made these statements:

“I never do anything to my skin, I just splash my face with water in the morning and in the evening”

“I always eat healthy and excercise loads, but my job is really stressful so I always have 1 or 2 glasses of wine and chocolate in the evening’s to help me unwind”

“I don’t get time to do anything with my skin. My kids take up so much of my time, I literally just wash my face and don’t do anything else”

“I don’t want to spend money on supplements and skincare products, I’d rather save it for a holiday”

“I feel guilty for spending money on myself when I could instead spend it on my kids”

“Oh I am too old and I didn’t look well enough after my skin when I was younger, there is no point doing anything to my skin now”

There are no miracles to skincare. It takes commitment and dedication. But it doesn’t mean you need 2 hours a day to achieve the results you are after. 

You have to bath/shower – wash your skin with a good cleanser and exfoliate 2-3 times a week, it takes 2 minutes. 

Your kids go to bed at 7:00 or 8:00, so a few times a week put a mask on while you catch up on things around the house, it takes nothing to apply it and wash it off after the 10 minutes. 

You have to brush your teeth before bed and in the morning, apply your serum and/or moisturiser, it takes 30 seconds. While you are at it, you can take your supplements in the morning that gives you all the micro nutrients your skin and body need.

We all have a little downtime everyday. Why not dedicate 20 minutes a day to do some moderate activity (House cleaning counts too)

We are all busy and we all have many demands on us, but it doesn’t mean we should neglect ourselves and our skin. If you want to look and feel good, you have to make the effort. You have to invest in YOURSELF. You have to commit to a healthier and happier you. That decision starts with you.

There are no excuses for poor health&skincare. I don’t earn a huge income, but I take the money I once spent on junk food and sweet treats (which gets pretty expensive when it all adds up at the end of the month) and I invest that in my monthly supplements and skincare. And know what, I feel great. And my skin is doing better than ever before.
