Elize About ~ The difference between skin type, skin concern and skin condition

Over the years, consumers have been misinformed over the difference between skin type, skin concern and skin condition. For me, it had always been about communicating the customers needs and concerns in detail to get to the core of the problems they are experiencing with their skin, often times it is something short term that can be resolved with the right care and advice. Over the next number of instalments , I will be discussing the different skin types and skin concerns as well as the most common skin conditions and how we can, by just making a few small changes, improve the condition of our skin in the long term.

SKIN TYPE is the skin you were born with and is hereditary. Skin types include normal, dry, combination, oily and sensitive skin. Your skin type can not be changed, but there are suitable products that can improve associated problems such as reducing oily shine caused by over production of sebum.

SKIN CONCERNS would normally include dullness, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, loss of firmness, loss of skin tone, enlarged pores and congestion.

SKIN CONDITIONS
includes acne, cold sores, heat rash, hives, moles, rosacea, itching, eczema, psoriasis and contact dermatitis

In my next instalment I will be discussing different skin types in more detail. Any questions? Please comment below.
